Moisture Intrusion

SBM provides solutions to moisture intrusion.  Moisture intrusion is caused by unwelcome water penetrating the masonry system.  While most masonry systems have controls to prevent this often times there are deficiencies such as an open caulk joints, ineffective weep joints, lack of flashing.  We analyze your structure to determine the proper solution three typical solutions to moisture intrusion are:

  1. Re-caulking failed caulk joints particularly on the parapet or capstones to prevent water intrusion.
  2. Provide sealant application to prevent excessive moisture from penetrating porous systems.
  3. Provide proper flashing details with weep holes to properly vent any moisture that enters the structure.
